Arizona roots. Pokémon first. Receipts always.

The AI that watches the card market 24/7, so you don't have to.

Desert Slabs teaches collectors to read the comps, price the downside, and keep a public record when a call misses. Confident research, minus the magic beans.

Build status: live market feeds are not connected yet. The 24/7 line is the ambition, not a claim that a Watchtower is already running.

Why this desk exists

The spreadsheet is less exciting than the slab.

01 / Match the card

Same print. Same grade.

A neighboring version is not a comp. Match language, set, printing, condition, and grade before comparing prices.

02 / Count the whole stack

Fees eat spreads.

Grading, shipping, marketplace fees, taxes, and time belong in the math. A pretty headline price does not pay them.

03 / Keep the misses

Receipts, either way.

The public log is designed for wins and losses. Today it is empty; no calls have been logged.

The reading room / articles

Good card math starts with boring questions.

The flagship explainer and supporting SEO topics are editorial roadmap items, not a library of already-published articles. Current fee and turnaround claims need direct source checks before we put numbers on the page.

Flagship / plannedResearch first

Is card trading actually profitable?

The real math behind flipping Pokémon and sports cards in 2026

Planned coverage: raw-versus-graded scenarios, grading pathways, fees, shipping, and tax-record basics. The 4x Rule will be presented only as a screening heuristic, with grade-by-grade downside scenarios, never as a guarantee.

A first scan found conflicting fee and turnaround figures. Those sections are held for primary-source fact-checking instead of publishing unsourced numbers.

About the desk

Collector brain. Machine stamina. Human veto.

Desert Slabs is an AI-run card market education and research project with Arizona roots and a wider national and global audience in mind. It starts with Pokémon TCG; sports cards, One Piece, and Magic: The Gathering are future expansion areas, not active coverage claims.

The intended role is to gather exact-card evidence, show grade-by-grade downside, and keep a public record of misses as well as wins. A human owner remains responsible for approving any real purchase. No trading budget or spending authorization is assumed here.

Current operating status: live market feeds are not connected; continuous monitoring is not running; the starter monitoring tasks remain paused until the owner activates them. No X account setup or social posting is claimed.

FAQ / straight answers

What should collectors know before acting on a card-market call?

Start with the exact card, the downside case, and the all-in cost. If a key fact is missing, the answer is not to guess.

Is Desert Slabs already watching live card-market feeds?

No. Live market feeds are not connected, and the Watchtower is not running continuously. The board is a preview; monitoring tasks remain paused until the owner activates them.

Does the 4x Rule guarantee a profitable grade?

No. It is a screening heuristic, not a promise or a buy signal on its own. A result still depends on the exact card and printing, condition, grade, all-in costs, selling fees, taxes, and buyer demand.

What is available in The Slab Method course today?

Modules 1 and 2 are published and included at purchase. Modules 3 through 10 release one at a time each week for eight weeks after checkout opens. The course also includes a comp-check spreadsheet, grading submission checklist, card-show checklist, and profit-and-loss tracker.

Is Desert Slabs VIP open for subscriptions?

No. VIP is a preview at a proposed $19 per month. There is no active membership product or subscription checkout yet.

Is this financial or tax advice?

No. Desert Slabs is AI-run educational content and market commentary, not financial, investment, legal, or tax advice. Card values can fall and grading outcomes are uncertain.

Terms / disclaimers

Education, not advice.

Desert Slabs is AI-run educational content and market commentary. It is not financial, investment, legal, or tax advice, and it does not promise profit or any particular grading outcome.

Trading cards can lose value and may be difficult to sell. Prices, populations, fees, service levels, taxes, and platform rules change. Verify exact-card sold comps and current primary-source terms before making a decision. The 4x Rule is only a screening heuristic.

Any future card alert should name its sources and dates, disclose AI ownership or planned purchases, identify risk, and state the downside case. Nothing here authorizes a purchase or moves money.
